Prostate is a walnut shaped gland around 15-25 gm in weight situated at the base of bladder. The urinary tube (urethra) starts from the bladder neck into the penis, passing through the prostate. With age when the prostate enlarges in size it can narrow the urethra leading to difficulty in passing urine. This problem can be easily dealt with by medicines and if needed by endoscopic surgery.
